Are you pursuing your life’s passion and purpose?

Living a fulfilled life?

Doing what you’re called to do?

Or are you dragging yourself out of bed every day, dragging yourself to a job you hate, dragging yourself back home to a life you hate, only to start all over again the next day?

Going through the motions of life and letting your passions and purpose go unfulfilled is probably one of the worst feelings in the world.

Believe me, I know.

I did it for 20 years.

Maybe you’re happy with your current job or career situation.

Maybe you’re not. Maybe you feel a longing, deep in your soul, to DO something more.

To BE something more.

But are you being and doing what your soul is calling you to do?

If you aren’t (and sadly most people aren’t), is it because:

  • You think you don’t have time?
  • You think you don’t have talent?
  • You think you don’t have any ideas?
  • You think no one will take you seriously?
  • You think it’s all been done and said before?

Can I tell you something?

You DO have the time.

If you think about it, you probably let it get filled up with tons of other distractions. (Facebook anyone?)

You DO have talent.

We are ALL gifted with unique skills and talents that only WE can offer the world. NO ONE else has your exact skill set, life experience, knowledge and wisdom.

Someone somewhere is yearning for the exact light you can bring to illuminate their world and inspire their path to their passion and purpose.

You DO have tons of ideas.

They’re floating around in that noggin of yours, all day every day.

Think about what inspires YOU, what lights you up, what interests, hobbies, knowledge and wisdom you have to share. As they come to you, write them down!

Store them somewhere, either in a journal or an online storage space (I use OneNote, but in the past, I’ve also used Dropbox, Evernote and Google Docs. Unfortunately, I have a ton of ideas scattered between them all so I have some cleaning up to do!)

Refer to these nuggets of knowledge when you’re stuck on ideas, whether it’s for your latest blog posts, social media shares, creative projects, business ideas, etc.

“HOW do I start?” you might ask.

Some of us need a nudge.

Some of us need a push. (That’s what happened to me — thanks to a layoff 7 years ago!)

It all starts with YOU.

But honestly, how shouldn’t be your first question.

Your first question should be: WHY?

Why do I feel unfulfilled?

Why do I have this desire to do and be something more?

Why do I feel called to something greater than myself?

One of my favorite influencers, Simon Sinek, has this to say about finding your why:

People don’t buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it.

Even though it’s advice geared more towards businesses it still applies to finding and fulfilling your personal passions too.

Because sometimes our personal passions can lead to a career change, entrepreneurship, motivational speaking and much more that is more aligned with our purpose and mission.

And sometimes it means staying in your current career field, but being happier and fulfilled leads to what?

More productivity at work and a happier life at home. (Who wouldn’t want that?!)

Once you figure out your WHY, the ‘how’ and the ‘what’ will automatically, almost seamlessly, follow.

How do I know this?

Because I spent nearly 20 years extremely unhappy and unfulfilled living a life that didn’t fit ME.

It was what society expected of me. Or what I thought I should do based on preconceived notions.

Eventually, I got sick of my own miserable self and the miserable life I’d built around my thoughts of WHAT I should be doing and HOW I should be doing it.

I finally figured out that I had to understand WHY I AM HERE.

Once I did that, I discovered:

I am here to help YOU to create the life you want.

I am here to help YOU achieve your goals, passions and purpose.

I am here to help YOU inspire others to do the same.  (A pay-it-forward kinda deal, basically!)

That is my why.

What others have to say:

Karen C. – Texas

I’ve been writing poetry and short stories since I was ten years old. I recently went through a traumatic accident and was looking for an outlet to express my feelings.

I had already written a few poems about the crash, but I felt like I had something miraculous that needed to be shared. Then I remembered Dawn had been blogging and writing for a magazine.

She became my go-to-girl for the answers I was seeking. She encouraged me to start a blog, to collect my writings and post them. We talked about my ideas, my fears, and breaking into the writing market.

Knowing that she has been successful as a contributing writer, a blogger, and freelancer, I was eager to pick her brain, so to speak. She has an ability to simplify things and help you look beyond what you see as limitations.

She loaned me some books on freelance writing and spent several hours investing in me as a person. Dawn has chosen to use her knowledge and writing skills to help others develop their own unique gifts.

It’s an honor to write a brief testament about Dawn and share with you her willingness to impart her own gifts on our behalf.

The feedback I’ve received, like the one above from Karen, is why I do what I do. My greatest joy and passion above all else is to help you.

I’m so excited you’re here and I look forward to us connecting more!
